Water Bubbler Safety – a message from FOCA (Federation of Ontario Cottagers Association) Many cottagers on the lake use bubblers around their dock area to keep it free of ice. Without careful planning, management and consideration of the nature of your waterfront area, your bubbler can de-ice a significantly larger portion of the water than is necessary to protect your property. This could have legal ramifications for you and be dangerous for others on the ice. If you use a bubbler, you must ensure you have "Danger, Open Water" signs visibly posted to alert people to stay clear of these open water areas. Please use caution when walking or snowmobiling near dock areas.
